What is the personal blog and how do I get started?

The personal blog lets you publish articles – news, guides, case studies, portfolio – straight from your Selfpage account, without needing a separate website. Your articles appear on your blog, next to your bio page.

Who has access to the blog

The blog is included in plans that have the Personal Blog feature (you'll see it marked on the Pricing page). When your plan includes it, the Blog Management section appears in the left menu, with three pages:

  • Blog articles – write, edit and publish your articles;
  • Blog categories – organize your articles by topic;
  • Blog settings – the author's name and description and what appears on the blog page.

Don't see the section in the menu? Your current plan doesn't include the blog – see How do I change my plan?

First steps, in order

  1. Make sure you have a default bio page – the blog is tied to its address.
  2. Fill in the blog settings: the author's name and description.
  3. Create one or more categories.
  4. Write and publish your first article.
  5. Share your blog – see Where does my blog appear and how do I share it?

Tip: add a Link block to your blog on your bio page (for example "Read the blog"), so your page visitors can easily reach your articles.
