At a glance
- Zero tolerance for phishing, malware, scams and illegal content.
- Respect other people: no harassment, hate or impersonation.
- Anyone can report a page or link that breaks these rules.
This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what applies.
1 Why these rules exist #
Selfpage is used by creators, professionals and businesses to share who they are and what they do. People who open a Selfpage page or link need to trust that it is safe. This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) applies to all content published through the Service and to how you use it. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
2 Security and deception #
You must not use Selfpage for, or link to:
- phishing, credential harvesting or pages that imitate a login, bank, payment or delivery service;
- malware, viruses, unwanted software or drive-by downloads;
- scams, fraud, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, fake giveaways or “get rich quick” offers;
- hiding the true destination of a link to mislead visitors or to avoid the filters of other platforms;
- impersonating a person, brand or organisation, or suggesting an affiliation that does not exist.
3 Illegal and harmful content #
The following are not allowed:
- content that is illegal under Romanian or EU law or the law of the visitor's country;
- child sexual abuse material or any sexualisation of minors (reported to the authorities);
- terrorist or violent extremist content, or content that promotes or threatens violence;
- the sale or promotion of illegal goods and services, including drugs, weapons, counterfeit products or stolen data;
- content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights of others;
- personal data of other people published without a legal basis (doxxing).
4 Respect for others #
We have zero tolerance for:
- harassment, bullying, threats or aggression of any kind;
- hate speech, or discrimination based on race, colour, ethnicity, national or social origin, religion, language, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, opinion or any other protected characteristic;
- defamatory or denigrating content about individuals or companies;
- vulgar or obscene content presented without the sensitive-content warning, and sexually explicit content in profile images or public listings.
Adult content that is legal may be published only where the sensitive-content option is enabled, so that visitors confirm before viewing it.
5 Spam and platform abuse #
- Do not send unsolicited messages (email, SMS, social or comment spam) containing Selfpage links.
- Do not create accounts, pages or links in bulk, or automate actions, except through our official API and within its limits.
- Do not artificially inflate visits or clicks, or manipulate statistics.
- Do not attempt to access other accounts or our systems without permission, probe for vulnerabilities, overload the Service or bypass plan limits and security measures.
- Do not resell or sublicense the Service without our written agreement.
If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to us privately so that we can fix it.
6 How we enforce this Policy #
We review reports and may also detect issues automatically (for example by checking links against safe-browsing and malware databases). Depending on how serious the issue is, we may:
- ask you to change or remove the content;
- disable a specific link, QR code, page or article, or show a warning to visitors;
- temporarily restrict features of your account;
- suspend or permanently close your account, without refund where the breach is serious or repeated;
- report illegal content to the competent authorities and keep the related evidence.
We act proportionately and, where the law and the circumstances allow, we tell you what we did and why. If you think we made a mistake, reply to our message or contact us and a person will review the decision.
7 Report a page or link #
If you see a Selfpage page, blog or link that breaks this Policy, please report it here, with the address and a short reason. For urgent issues or copyright and trademark notices, you can also write to [email protected]. Include enough detail for us to find the content and, for intellectual property claims, proof that you own the rights.
8 Changes #
We may update this Policy as new risks appear or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page, with its date at the top. This Policy is available in Romanian and English; if the versions differ, the Romanian version prevails.
