How do I add UTM parameters to a link?

UTM parameters show you in Google Analytics which campaign, source or channel your visitors come from. With the Parameter Builder you add them without building the address by hand.

  1. Open the link for editing (or, when creating it, Customize ⋯ → Parameters).
  2. In the Parameter Builder section, click + Add.
  3. Type the parameter name (for example utm_source) and its value (for example instagram).
  4. Repeat for utm_medium, utm_campaign and so on, and save the link.

The parameters are added to the destination address automatically at the moment of the redirect. The short link stays just as clean.

Example

ParameterValue
utm_sourceinstagram
utm_mediumbio
utm_campaignautumn-sale

Tip: create a separate short link for each source (Instagram, newsletter, flyer) with different UTM values, so you can compare results precisely.
