How do I choose a custom alias for a link?

The alias is the part after the domain: in selfpage.link/wedding-guide, the alias is wedding-guide. A clear alias looks more professional and builds trust.

1. On the Dashboard, paste the long link.
2. Click the sliders button next to Shorten.
3. Type the alias you want in the Custom field.
4. Click Shorten.

Alias rules

• At least 3 characters. Use letters, digits and hyphens (avoid spaces and accented letters).
• It must be unique on the chosen domain. If it's already in use, you get the message That alias is taken. Please choose another one.
• Inappropriate words are not allowed.

Tip: the same alias may be free on your own domain, even if it's taken on selfpage.link.

You can change the alias after creating the link too, from the link's edit page. Careful: the old link will stop working.
